interresting aproach.
this could work. however, i can see a few limitations:
- you must be root.

Hi all,
Currently there is an old known

where we maintain a set of nss databases
(passwd, group, shadow, etc.)
inside a

Currently there is an old known limitation when using ROOT= option to install a
package in a folder: user/groups are created in the host filesystem, not the
target root filesystem.
So I've pushed some modifications to the upstream shadow repo.
Basically, I've added a --prefix option to
thing ;)
thank you

Hi,
I'm still searching for the reason why I'm not seeing my eclass
modifications... no luck so far.
What can I do to debug portage's behavior?
Thank you

Hi all,
I'm currently developping a patch for user.eclass, but I'm
banging my head against a wall...
So for testing first, I've setup an overlay, and I now that
it is taken in account by portage (If I rename portage's
user.eclass, emerge is still working. If I remove my
overlay, emerge co
