[gentoo-dev] Packages up for grabs: dev-libs/zlog

2022-04-03 Thread Sam James
Hi all,

dev-libs/zlog is up for grabs as a result of klausman's retirement.

No open bugs and is up to date, but could do with cleanup of old version.

[gentoo-dev] Packages up for grabs

2022-03-21 Thread Joonas Niilola
Hey,

these packages are ups for grabs after a retirement of a proxied maintainer.

app-admin/prelude-manager
dev-libs/libprelude
dev-libs/libpreludedb
net-analyzer/prelude-correlator
net-analyzer/prelude-lml
net-analyzer/prelude-lml-rules
www-apps/prewikka

pkgcheck reports:
app-admin/prelude-manager
  StaticSrcUri: version 5.1.0-r1: '5.1.0' in SRC_URI
  StaticSrcUri: version 5.2.0-r1: '5.2.0' in SRC_URI

These *prelude* packages have tons of bugs open, and prewikka one too.

Re: [gentoo-dev] Packages up for grabs: net-mail/mailman and everything that belongs to it

2022-01-20 Thread Jaco Kroon
Hi Hanno,

We've decided to for the time being shelf Mailman completely.  We're
just about done (should go live with test clients this afternoon)
implementing an alternative that we've built in-house to more accurately
accommodate for our use-case in any case.

I would recommend proceeding to last-rite Mailman and related packages.

Kind Regards,
Jaco

[gentoo-dev] Packages up for grabs: media-libs/libsidplay, games-util/dzip, app-crypt/md4sum

2022-01-16 Thread Hanno Böck
Hi,

I'm listed as the maintainer for the following packages where I'm no
longer interested:

media-libs/libsidplay
Library to play C64 sid files. Likely interesting to keep, but to be
honest I haven't touched it for a very long time.

games-util/dzip
This is extremely specific (compression tool for quake recordings), so
maybe this should be last-rited?

app-crypt/md4sum
Commandline tool for the MD4 sum algorithm. Also able to calculate
specific hashes used in the ed2k protocol (aka "amule", which is still
somewhat active).

Anyone who's interested in picking those please feel free to add
yourself to the metadata. I'll remove myself soon.

2021-12-24 Thread Jaco Kroon
Hi Hanno,

I've started looking at this mess.  And a mess it is.  To the point,
where for our somewhat "subset of what mailman provides" requirements
I'm contemplating rather cooking an in-house solution (have done similar
in the past, but none of these really provide everything we require),
but will get back to you.

In the current state mailman3 as it is in tree I don't think it's usable
in any sensible way (Unless I'm really missing something), so if I go
another route I recommend we last-rite it and move on.  If I do pick it
up on it, then the problem is solved either way.

Kind Regards,

[gentoo-dev] Packages up for grabs: net-mail/mailman and everything that belongs to it

2021-12-21 Thread Hanno Böck
Hi,

I'm no longer using mailman personally, thus I'm not interested in
maintaining it any more.

The mailman packages currently in portage are the mailman 3 split
packages, which involve multiple packages providing the functionality,
plus a large number of dependencies. (Unfortunately with the switch
from mailman 2 to 3 upstream decided not only to move from python 2 to
3, but also to make the whole thing far more complicated and involve
far more dependencies...)

If you're interested in maintaining this please add yourself to the
metadata.xml of these packages:

dev-python/django-allauth
dev-python/django-appconf
dev-python/django-compressor
dev-python/django-extensions
dev-python/django-gravatar2
dev-python/django-haystack
dev-python/django-picklefield
dev-python/django-q
dev-python/python3-openid
dev-python/rcssmin
dev-python/robot-detection
net-mail/django-mailman3
net-mail/hyperkitty
net-mail/mailmanclient
net-mail/mailman
net-mail/mailman-meta
net-mail/postorius

If noone steps up maintaining this I'n not entirely sure what to do
with it, maybe just remove everything? (Including the python
dependencies that aren't used by any other package I guess.)

That's a shame.  Big loss.

createrepo_c depends on this, willing to grab it purely for that.
rpmdevtools is the other big consumer - kensington - you willing to
handle this one?

> net-libs/iax

I believe this can be last rited.  This is a voice package but I can't
find consumers, nor does it look useful as is (no .so being installed,
and otherwise it's just a pkg-config style iax-config, but references
not-installed libiax).  I thus believe the package looks to be broken.
Adding last-rite.

> net-misc/astmanproxy
Potentially useful.  Will look into this.  For now I'll mark myself as
proxymaintainer.  If someone else wants to grab instead, please feel
free to do so.  I may end up last-riting this, so if there are users of
this, please let me know, or just grab the package.

Will take these.  May want to consider replacing bgpq3 with bgpq4
regardless.

Another batch of packages that would like a dedicated maintainer.
I dropped myself from maintainer list for the following:

app-editors/hteditor

I am remaining dev-lang/erlang proxy-maintainer. I came to the package
approximately in the same time like Sergei, when I did few
contributions. Anyway, Sergei maintained the package really well and
meantime I stopped needing this package, therefore, I was about to drop

Probably question to Sergei or some other dev, should I do PR, where I
drop myself from erlang maintainers?

[gentoo-dev] Packages up for grabs

2021-07-23 Thread Sergei Trofimovich
The packages could use some help from a dedicated maintainer.
I dropped myself from maintainer list for the following:

app-text/fbpdf
dev-lang/crystal
dev-lang/elixir
dev-lang/erlang
dev-lang/jwasm
dev-libs/capstone
dev-util/objconv
dev-util/radare2
dev-util/shards
dev-lang/gforth
dev-util/xxdiff
net-fs/smbnetfs

Most of them require low/no maintenance. But there should be
room for improvements over existing state.

The current ebuild has little special stuff so probably also works for

2021-04-25 Thread William Hubbs
Hi all,

www-apps/netbox and its dependencies need love which I haven't been able
to give them lately, so I've decided to put them up for grabs.

I have dropped maintainership on the first two because the python team
is already a co-maintainer.

I am the only maintainer on the rest of these, so feel free to replace
me if you take them. netbox itself has some open bugs and a version
bump. I'm sure the bump can resolve the bugs.

I will go through the list again in a couple of weeks and do a lastrites
for the packages that do not have a maintainer.

dev-python/djangorestframework

www-apps/netbox

Hello!

It turns out that I don't have enough time to maintain these packages any more:

Has reverse dependencies:
* dev-db/oracle-instantclient (no fetch restriction any more)

Obsolete, updating revdeps not initiated yet:
* dev-db/oracle-instantclient-basic
* dev-db/oracle-instantclient-jdbc
* dev-db/oracle-instantclient-odbc
* dev-db/oracle-instantclient-sqlplus

No reverse dependencies:
* dev-db/tora(has one proxy maintainer left)
* mail-mta/nullmailer(has one maintainer left)
* net-libs/openmq-cclient
* net-misc/mico

For Windows based Prefix, as there is no more Prefix developer
having access to Windows machines:

For Cygwin only - which may drop in favor of WSL:
* app-admin/cygwin-rebase
* sys-libs/cygwin-crypt

For native Windows using MSVC, needs either Cygwin or WSL:
* dev-libs/pthreads4w
* sys-devel/parity (a live build dep has dropped already)

Packages up for grabs due to retirement of a proxied maintainer (and somebody
giving up a package):
app-emulation/img
app-forensics/aide
app-text/cherrytree
media-gfx/zbar
net-p2p/go-ethereum

Most have no open bugs and are in a reasonable state.

Since this message made it to some news websites, I'd like to send a
follow-up with a positive resolution.

tdesktop have finally found a caring person and is now proxy-maintained.
we've got an update that fixes quite a lot of issues, including audio
call crashes under some conditions and work on unbundling critical libraries is
in progress.
it will remain in the tree, I'm proxying and still testing it on
non-amd64 arches (forcing SSE2 is not nice).

stabilization of new versions will happen sooner than later.

Have a nice day ;-)
