Errant thought: It may be useful for the tool that you use to generate this
mail to
embed a list of bug summaries, in the hope it will generate more interest and
utility
than a simple "things are bad, look here"

Maybe only show a subset of them, especially ones that have had no feedback by
people
other than the submitter, on the basis that sometimes, bugs enter bugzilla, the
details are a bit
flimsy and they'll stay sitting in the bug-wranglers list while a course is
planned.

And those bugs can be considered to be "cared about" to an extent, even if they
aren't
immediately classifiable.

Hope that gives some ideas *shrug*

Ian,
I had the same question some time ago and finally I got a link to
mgorny's nice script.

This script can run in greasemonkey and is a good starting point:
http://dev.gentoo.org/~mgorny/bug-assign.user.js

Perhaps even better, faster and safer, than running a bot...
The script just needs a bit more advertising.

Best,
Jonas

I'm almost certain this has been asked before but...

As gentoo-bot can ping me when my packages have Github PRs opened
against them, can we not get something set up to assign bugs
automatically, at least for the "easy" stuff.

There is a chance this has already been set up - and its not on by
default because someone may get a rogue bug assigned once in a while -
in which case how do I opt in? I am happy to reassign if the bot gets
it wrong once in a while.

Cheers!

Ian
