Each user can setup an ignore list from the ohloh interface. don't
know if there's a way to ignore files project-side.

But signing quite often implies typing in password, especially if it's
the first signature done in the session. That means more delay, and thus
more likely for the commit to be taken as a separate one.

Well, even without the signing step, the Manifest has to be committed
separately because the cvs $Header thing causes the ebuild digest to
change as soon as it is committed.

The Manifest commit is done anyway, whether your GPG signature is
added or not.

Another reason for all of us to move to gpg signed manifests — another
commit free with every ebuild commit!

[gentoo-dev] Ohloh statistics updated

2011-07-22 Thread Stanislav Ochotnicky
Hello fellow devs,

some of you know that our commit statistics at Ohloh[1] have been
outdated because they were not able to process our huge CVS tree for
some reason :-)

One way or the other I managed to reuse robbat2's previous work on
cvs->git conversion and keep our experimental conversion repository
up-to-date (I don't have cron job, but it's still completely automated).

After 3 weeks of crunching (or was it more?) Ohloh machines finally spit
out updated statistics, removing few warnings from our project page
(such as "Decreasing year-over-year development activity""). Updates are
faster of course so our stats shouldn't be outdated anymore.

So go claim your commits,
