Never mind, I found them [1]. Section 5.7 says that the remaining
Trustees can vote in a replacement for Seemant. It doesn't require us
to re-open voting with the membership.

Grant - as you're now the senior Trustee, can we rely on you to
organise a Trustees meeting to discuss this, and hopefully vote in a
successor for Seemant?

Dear All (specifically, the voting members of the foundation),

Thank you all so much for expressing your confidence in me with the most
recent Trustee elections. I fear, however, that for personal reasons I
will be unable to assume my position on the board. I thus respectfully
resign my position.

I'll grumble @ Seemant about this off-list :)

So, what now?

a) We promote rl03 (as the first losing candidate) to the Board of
Trustees, without requiring another vote.
b) We re-open nominations, and hold another vote.

Anyone know where I can find a copy of the Foundation's by-laws, to
see what it says about this situation?

Best regards,
Stu

We take the first winner from Gentoo Devmatch and proclaim them supreme
commander of the Gentoo fleet. Then, we'll just need to start building
a fleet.

*Sigh* Unfortunately, the bylaws have yet to be approved (mainly
because the quorum requirements would kill us). Thus, there is no
 well-defined path. The options are:

 (1) Follow the bylaws, and the remaining trustees will pick a
 replacement.
 (2) Bump up the largest vote recipient who didn't make the cut (r103).
 (3) Or re-open nominations

The remaining trustees just held a brief meeting and discovered that (1)
and (2) produce the same outcome--r103 replacing seemant. That's what
we're going with, then. Congratulations to r103! Meanwhile, we promise
to get a revised set of bylaws put together (and approved!) so that we
don't wind up in this predicament again.
