Hi.

During the course of bug 280312[1], we (KDE team) made the pm-utils
support in powerdevil optional based on a use flag. Although hal was
already using the "laptop" use flag for similar support, we decided to
use the "pm-utils" use flag as wicd was already doing. The decision was
based on the dislike for the laptop use flag by most of the people
discussing this issue in #gentoo-dev at that point.
As these packages are using these flags to enable support for
suspend/resume through the sys-power/pm-utils package, we should pick
one name for that flag and apply it on all packages. Raúl (armin76) has
also suggested in #gentoo-dev[2] that we should mask the use flag
globally and only unmask it on arches that support it.
Any suggestions for the use flag name? If not, which use flag would you
prefer? Any objections to mask the use flags globally as Raúl suggested?

should be masked globally and then unmasked on arches that can run it
