Well, it is when you download the same package from two different portage
clients... using wget f.x. it gets confused and messes up what is downloaded.

look at /etc/make.conf - there is the path to a file named use.desc

You could use the live CD and do a
mount /dev/ /mnt/gentoo
to get access to your installed /etc.

I tried to set up my AVM Fritz PCI V2 for gentoo but did not get it. I
compiled the kernel with CAPI support, emerged capi4k-utils and fcpci. The setup
seems ok but I can not connect.
Do I have to add something to modules.conf? Any hints for the scripts in
