[gentoo-user] What happened with -vo vesa in Mplayer?

I used to play movies on the console with -vo vesa option, mplayer -vo vesa -x 1280 -y 1024 somefile.avi Right now there is no available vesa driver at all in my mplayer installation. Where did it go? I can play (sort of) with -vo fbdev or fbdev2, but my resolution is about 1/8 or less of the
