What could be the reason. How can I debug the problem?

So, what has to be changed/added for portage to accept this new
package?

Hi,
I'd like to write my own .ebuild file.
I know which libaries are needed by the new package
but how can I find out which package provides a
given library?
e.g.
libXext (probably virtual/x11)
I've tried
equery belongs Xext
but didn't get an answer.
Many thanks for hint,
Helmut

Hi,
I'm installing GenToo on several machines for the first time.
I'd like to switch to Python-2.5 from the very beginning.
Is there an upgrade roadmap to switch to Python-2.5 ?

in addition to world and say emerge MyWorld ?

Hi,
gentoo doesn't seem to like me.
Trying to install gentoo, I did

Are the gentoo kernel patches buggy?
