figured it out.
Just had to etc-config, emerge -B shadow
emerge --unmerge pam-login
emerge --usebinpkg shadow
emerge -uDN world
A friend told me that, and now it works.

Not the solution to your problem, but if you want to use distcc, your

I did that, thanks for telling me, and I am trying a recompile, it
doesn't hurt.
