I have two NICs in my system, one for Internet and the other for my private network. The NIC that I want to be eth0 uses the forcedeth module and the NIC I want to be eth1 uses the 3c59x module. I have set up aliases in my /etc/modules.d/forcedeth: alias eth0 forcedeth and /etc/modules.d/3c
