Your /etc/inittab file probably has runlevels 3 & 5 mapped to default. Create a new directory in /etc/runlevels named console. Do the rc-update to install console-only services. Edit /etc/inittab to map runlevel 3 to console. Done. -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
