Hi,
since a few weeks I always get the annoying message
/usr/lib/libpng12.so.0 is not a symbolic link
whenever an 'ldconfig' is run, e.g. while postprocessing
after a package's install.
Does anybody know how to get rid of it.
Unfortunately,
net-misc/nxclient-3.4.0.7 depends on libpng:1.2

I'm guessing that file should be a symlink to a longer name, similar

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 2010-05-10 14:57
try..
# libpng-1.4.x-update.sh

Giuseppe Scaglione.
Hi,
after the recent upgrade to Gnome 2.30 libraries
gconf-editor or meld die of

Strangely, it works on a different machine which is thought to be
identically configured.
Many thanks
I'm running grub 2 it seems. I don't know when that started, or what
difference it makes compared to legacy grub. I guess I don't need to know.
But a recent post had me looking at use-flags, and I was a bit surprised to
find (ncurses -static). If this refers to the part of grub that I run when

I found out a computer of mine has been working with a bad memory

running this way for a long time.
So I guess some binaries might have errors on it, due to

No. You are running grub 0.97-r9 (which is a legacy grub):
Don't be confused by the description in eix:
eix knows only one description per package (not one per version),
and it takes this description from the version with the highest

I posted this on the Gentoo Forums but I thought it may be a good idea to
email the list as well:
