All my machines have .icewm/menu as a symlink to .icewm/toolbar. The
crashes occur on both 32 and 64-bit installs. After more testing, I've
narrowed down the crash-to-text-console a bit...

* I can switch workareas OK
* I can launch individual apps OK
* The crashes always happen when I try to open a submenu. Clicking on
the associated icon crashes immediately to text console. The submenu
does not open up. Question... has icewm menu syntax changed recently?

  Here's a fragment of .icewm/toolbar (and the .icewm/menu symlink)

I can successfully launch the first 10 items by clicking on the icon,
but clicking on the "NETAIR" icon crashes to text console immediately.
One thing I noticed that may not be relavant... emerging icewm-1.4.2
allows giflib to be depcleaned. Emerging icewm-1.3.8 pulls in giflib
again. I did try icewm-1.4.2, with giflib present, but that did not
change anything. "emerge --info icewm" output is attached.

Yeah, we'll be in really sad shape if bash or curl ever go away, or
when they stop using RSS/Atom... :)

I have used flexget in the past, though more for video. It works,
though the yaml is finicky as I recall. It would probably be easier
to use for podcasts, but it is much more complex than podracer with a
large number of dependencies so I wouldn't underestimate the issues
you might run into maintaining it yourself.

I was sure I installed flexget from portage but it's not there now. It is
in the fouxlay overlay.

Airsonic is a bit much for just downloading podcasts, it's a complete
music streaming server. It's not in portage, I installed the WAR package
from https://github.com/airsonic/airsonic

Are there ebuilds for either of these? I can't find them in Portage?

The current version of Podracer, Rich's suggestion, is 10 years old!

According to the MB docu is it a "ASPEED AST2400 BMC" Video controller.

Thanks for that link, I will have to look into that.
Although I will not be using X on this box, as it is a server, it looks
like I need to configure DRM.

[gentoo-user] Re: Using both Gnome and KDE Plasma?

2018-01-28 Thread Nikos Chantziaras

One user wants Gnome, the other wants Plasma. Is this doable?

Currently, Plasma is installed, and the profile is:

   default/linux/amd64/17.0/desktop/plasma/systemd

The profiles seem to be either-or. There's one for plasma, one for
gnome. But I need both now :-/

Thanks everyone for the replies. It seems that for this one, the easy
solution happens to be the same as the safe solution:

  mkdir /etc/portage/profile
  cd /etc/portage/profile
  ln -s PORTDIR/profiles/targets/desktop/gnome/make.defaults .
  ln -s PORTDIR/profiles/targets/desktop/gnome/package.use .

  # disable Gnome USE flags I don't want, like "online-accounts" etc.

  emerge -auDN --with-bdeps=y @world
  emerge -a gnome

Still building webkit-gtk... But there were no conflicts.
