I saw that there were a couple of syslog-ng threads recently, but
neither of them mentioned any segfaulting which I am currently
experiencing. My log file (dmesg and /var/log/messages) is full of lines
 like this:

 syslog-ng[32015]: segfault at 44d8 ip 7f4f3fa23c83 sp

Has anybody else seen anything like that?

Yes, I had the same issue last Sunday.

At x86_64 XEN-based VPS. It's gone after the reboot too. What is
CFLAGS there, I don't remember. I'll check it.

Ok. How is possible to get the post-install message of an ebuild
without re-emerge the package neither opening the log file? The man
page of emerge cannot say anything about it.

There are 2 programs reading emerge log files and displaying them in
an aesy format: elogv (ncurses) and elogviwer (X).

It is necessary to have the variables PORTAGE_ELOG_CLASSES and
PORTAGE_ELOG_SYSTEM set properly for get these program to work, for
example:

PORTAGE_ELOG_CLASSES=warn error log
PORTAGE_ELOG_SYSTEM=save

[gentoo-user] Cups web interface, manage functions don't work

2013-07-13 Thread Алексей Мишустин
Hi,

I have got a problem with cups web interface. It lets me add printers
and classes, but doesn't let neither manage nor delete them. There was
no this problem before, some time ago I deleted printer successfully.
May be it's due to the recent cups update.

My user is listed in lpadmin group.

/usr/sbin/lpadmin permissions are -rwxr-xr-x root root. (is it normal
that group isn't lpadmin?)

Cupsd.conf and cups-files.conf included.

Thanks for your hints.

The HP PSC 1410 USB thread suggests to disable USB printer support in
the kernel, and enable the usb USE flag for cups. But I think if this
were the problem, you wouldn't even see the printer in CUPS.

Who knows why Gmail put your message in spam, I've seen it only today.

Yes, the problem wasn't in that.

But thanks anyway.

[gentoo-user] Problem with printing

Hi List,

I have got a problem with printing.

Cups logs are showing Create-Job successful-ok and Send-Document
