I managed to build a generic kernel to install in heterogeneous hardware of my LAN.
I choosed do use aoutoconfig, coldplug hotplug in order to
automaticaly find the most unusual HW configurations, but I am getting
the folowing weird behavior from coldplug:

I am having a strange problem: every time I try to run the script
tcupdate
(http://gentooexperimental.org/archive/tcupdate/tcupdate-0.2.2.0)
I get the error:
sed: -e _expression_ #1, char 127: unterminated `s' command
It works ok at my lab, but not on my PC at home!

I removed /etc/asound.state and the service restarted without errors.
Then I run alsaconf (thanks to Veiga) and unmuted the card. Listening
to music again :)

and still no core dumps from my code's features... ;-)
