Hi list,

First, i'm not an experienced user of gentoo, just started using it a couple of months ago, I come from freebsd world which i find it to be similar in many ways with the gentoo world. I have a really old server on which I performed emerge --sync and after I had to eselect profile set to hardened/linux/amd64.

After this i wanted to:

emerge -vp portage

I tried with --nodeps for both portage which complains about python version and doesn't want to install and for python itself i get:

Is it possible to update this system? If yes please shed some light or point me in the right direction.
