GCC-4.5.3, bison 2.4.3, flex 2.5.35. I get the following error
message:

I think You could try:
1) change cflags in make.conf
2) bootstrap.sh
3) emerge -e system
4) emerge -e world
In other words this is how to build a system from stage 1.
