Well I just installed kicad-meta (6.0.1), and neither vtk nor hdf5 are
pulled into the dep tree as a result... Given opencascade[vtk] is
what's pulling in vtk in your emerge above, disabling the vtk
useflag's probably going to help.
In addition, I cant imagine why in a million years

I,
again, I have a question on reverse dependency search:
How can I find out which (installed) package requires a given package
(sci-libs/hdf5 in my case) with a specific use flag (cxx in my case)?
I can't see how specifiy the use flag when using qdepends.
Many thanks for a hint,
Helmut.

Now for your own sanity you might consider stopping adding things
globally constantly, and using app-portage/flaggie to sanely manage
them per-package... Cause there's far more use flags that make sense
per-package than make sense globally. I used to manage them all
largely globally like ten years

Now I'm having issues with hdf5 and flann. I think this is like th

If this is irrelevant, then why doesn't it say that it is irrelevant?
Why was suggested that I remove boost to resolve an irrelevant conflict?

Hi Miles,
This install is likely over 10 years old. I might add, I copied a lot
of things over from my previous system which was a AMD 2500+ single core

it is "does this stop the emerge proceeding". In your original case,
that was not the case. The emerge did stop, but because of the thing

emerge would most likely have proceeded despite t
