Hello gentoo-user,
Option SERVER=-S ftp.zxc.nnov.ru,21 in /etc/conf.d/pure-ftpd must
bind ftp only on ftp.zxc.nnov.ru, but all can acces through it's ip
address and other domain addresses.
How i can prevent see on other domains this ftp server?

The version of vsftp you have installed is out of date, the new version wants
to install ftpbase, but ftpbase blocks all versions of vsftp (and proftpd,
and probably pure-ftpd
Maybe use emerge --force or transfer the ebuild to a local overlay and
remove the blocking. I never understood why different tftp servers block
each other. I mean I can install pure-ftpd and proftpd at the time time too.
Sorry, I meant --nodeps instead of force. I tried it, and am now able
to monitor what they are doing to make sure they gets connected.
This is especially useful when doing support on the phone, I can call my
user and instruct him to download file, at the meantime see he logged in
and doing the right thing.
I used pure-ftpd and pureadmin (a GUI for monitoring pure-ftpd

Why not just use scp of sftp since its so infrequent?

scp is fucking easy to do. Even easier: pure-ftpd.

Hi,
I've been using PHP version 4. Last night during a normal
emerge -av --nospinner -u world Mysql got updated to version 5, which
messed up Apache, Postfix and Pure-ftpd. Actually Apache itself wasn't
messed up, but Mod_PHP was since it couldn't load the Mysql library any
more. It's clear
of worms. o_O
scp is fucking easy to do. Even easier: pure-ftpd.
I'm using sys-fs/sshfs-fuse which is working very good, and it is really
easy to setup.

Yea, like using hal. lol I used scp a few times. Figuring out how to
get it to work was like pulling teeth.
It did work once I got it figured out.

that also applies to config files.
And obsolete configuration files are even more likely to be dangerous
than general data.
really? Please show me an example of.. say an undeleted pure-ftpd

Pure-FTPD doesn't work on amd64. I've been unable to get lighttpd running.
My complaint at the moment is I have to run my monitor at 1280x1024 if I want
3D acceleration.
But that's Gfx card/driver interaction that'll get sorted out eventually

mistype in portage options is a complete nightmare.
There is a simple rule in computing:
NEVER remove user created data
that also applies to config files.
There are ways to check if a file is still
overlay and
remove the blocking. I never understood why different tftp servers block

I would have sworn I had at least two different tftp servers installed
at the same time in the past...

er needs to write something similar, here is how I got it to
work:
=
# cat /etc/portage/bashrc
#!/bin/bash
if [ "${EBUILD_PHASE}" = "postinst" ]
then
if [ "${CATEGORY}/${PN}" = "net-ftp/pure-ftpd" ]
then
cp /etc/openldap/schema/pureftpd.schema
/o

I've had similar problems quite a bit. After a while I just installed
pure-ftpd on Gentoo and used smart ftp on Windows. It still took a long
time but seemed to go much faster than that smb stuff.
