Hello Mark Somerville, I too have been using SLUB on my desktop since .22 was stable. No problems, but no noticable speed increase. I'm also on ext3 aftar a Reiserfs 3 disaster! I just found that my laptop no longer recognised USB devices, so I went back to SLAB and all was well again. --

Something I noticed with a laptop, power usage seemed to reduce using slab over slub which was counter intuitive. Need to spend a few hours and recheck - would be nice if some else can confirm it. and I am back on reiserfs after an ext3 disaster(s). YMMV :) that was at least two years ago but
