ok, theres an update...the users where hidden because the option to hide them was enabled. I disabled that and see my users in a list.My users were not selected, so I selected them, and turned off the option that say invert selection. ...still no good. I read in the source that nobody is used when

with regard to the problem with sound... Not only does xmms not play music (and throws an error), but mplayer doesn't play any sound. It will open a movie file and play it, but no sound is playing. It seems as though their is some global setting that isn't right, or that something is going on
