Hi all, now that I have smb:// working from nautilus, I clicked on the "network:///" icon in "computer:///", and I get a bunch of files like:
smb-workgroup-SERVER1 smb-workgroup-SERVER2 smb-workgroup-SERVER3 and one "windows network". When I click on a "smb-workgroup-SERVER1" file, I get the message: Cannot open smb-workgroup-SERVER1 The filename "smb-workgroup-SERVER1" indicates that this file is of type "desktop configuration file". The contents of the file indicate that the file is of type "x-directory/smb-share". If you open this file, the file might present a security risk to your system. Do not open the file unless you created the file yourself, or received the file from a trusted source. To open the file, rename the file to the correct extension for "x-directory/smb-share", then open the file normally. Alternatively, use the Open With menu to choose a specific application for the file. Instead, I would expect nautilus to open the location and go to "smb://SERVER1/" but it doesn't. I can manually type "smb://SERVER1/" in the location, and it works, but why can't I do it from the "netowrk:///" location? I am using ~x86, with the samba and smb use flags. nautilus-2.12.2 and gnome-vfs-2.12.2 thanks, -- Iain Buchanan <iain at netspace dot net dot au> Practical politics consists in ignoring facts. -- Henry Adams -- gentoo-user@gentoo.org mailing list
