now and other pages, even those with pics, load faster.  Sort of odd.

I like it but it was slow to load.  Maybe it will settle out soon. 

I think I started on a Wyse 50 terminal.  Heck, at one point, the main
server had a 25MHz CPU even.  Dang I'm getting old.  o_O

That's the idea - to resemble those old serial terminals.

Bill reminds me that we used vt100 terminals, and later vt220. We thought 
the gold phosphor was the latest thing in chic at the time.

How can I play the great new game on the site? Firefox just tries to search the 
page when I press A or Q? Am I using an unsupported browser? Should I try 
WorldWideWeb-browser? Is it in portage?

I think it only runs on Mosaic and IE1.

More seriously, Firefox may be eating your key presses. I found it works
well on Chromium, but now Google know how crap I am at Pong.

Well, let's not forget about having the word login: burned into the
screen too.  Me, I always turned mine off when I left for the day. 
Everyone else tho, they could see their login prompt all the time, just
in a slightly different color.  o_-

Oh, I usually fixed the keyboards after someone spilled Dr Pepper on
them too.  Start off with water, hot if possible, then move up to 99%
alcohol.  Once that is done, place the keyboard on the A/C condenser
outside and let the heat and fans dry it.  Since they regularly were
blowing 150F air, it doesn't take long. 

I'm getting to old.  :-(

The second phase of the project to get Gentoo Linux to a wider user
base will involve the creation of floppy disk sets containing a compact
version of the operating system and a selection of software essentials.

With Gentoo on board they're probably looking at a doubling of the
