My guess would be flash... try uninstalling flash, java, nspluginwrapper, disabling add-ons, etc one by one until you find the cause. It was the adobe-flash. I uninstalled it and all was fine. The emerge -pv adobe-flash looks like the following: [ebuild N] www-plugins/adobe-flash-10.0.22.87 USE=32bit (multilib). I installed it again and Firefox crashes on certain sites. So now it's uninstalled again. At least Firefox is stable now. Is there a flash that works? If you are on amd64 you could specify the -32bit use flag. HTH -Robin It doesn't work. I tried adding www-plugins/adobe-flash -32bit to the package.use file and Firefox still crashes. Thanks, dhk

I've had a problem since FF 3.0.8 when I ask to print an article from 'Spectator' magazine (needed to get the story in 1 page). I submitted a bug to Firefox, but nothing has happened. I've taken to using Konqueror instead, when I read 'Spectator', which doesn't suffer from the problem. -- ,, SUPPORT ___//___, Philip Webb ELECTRIC /] [] [] [] [] []| Cities Centre, University of Toronto TRANSIT`-O--O---' purslowatchassdotutorontodotca

I tried by moving the old .mozilla directory to .mozilla.old and started Firefox on the command line and the results were the same. When I went to ebay it crashed and the only output was: Illegal instruction. Then I uninstalled nspluginwrapper: # emerge -Cp nspluginwrapper Firefox crashed after going to ebay. Then I installed nspluginwrapper: # emerge nspluginwrapper Firefox still crashed after going to ebay. What else? Thanks all

Just close Firefox, rename the directory with .old on the end, then restart firefox and see if that helps. If it still crashes, you may want to try opening it in a console to see if that helps any. You may get a error of some kind to check into. Just additional thoughts. Dale :-) :-)
