It would also be nice to link to the GeoTools 8.3 release notes, as much
functionality exposed through GeoServer is provided in GeoTools. An
unfamiliar user might not realise that GS 2.2.1 includes a new release
of GT 8.3.

takes you to http://sourceforge.net/projects/geoserver/files/
(which I think are here
