[Geoserver-devel] Log4j upgrade... like right now... yep, I mean it

2018-10-23 Thread Andrea Aime
Hi, months ago Jody wrote a proposal to upgrade Log4j to the latest version (2.x), the proposal is still here but has had little discussion and no voting: https://github.com/geoserver/geoserver/wiki/GSIP-167 Upgrading log4j has little problems code wise, the API is a bit different, but not so

Hello List, even though I am not a GeoServer core developer myself, I think that my questions can best be answered by people who are involved in the geoserver development. I try to reverse the encryption mechanism of the passwords for the DB connections that are returned via the REST API. I

I'm familiar with the hz-cluster module itself but not with this plugin. I have no idea about a solution on the top of my head, however I might be able to allocate some resources to work on this at some point in the future since I have a client that uses the module. So if I understand

2018-10-23 Thread Richard Duivenvoorde
Hi Devs, Testing here a Windows setup with an ecw-store (via gdal plugin), which is epsg:28992. Serving layers of this store is ok, we can serve as 28992 or 3857 but NOT epsg:4326. So reprojecting to 4326 fails with a timeout. Both small and large ecw's. Running jre 1.8.0_172 Full logs below

[Geoserver-devel] JDK11: stuck on a build failure about XML validation

2018-10-23 Thread Andrea Aime
Hi, on the build server, JDK11 build, there are a bunch of build failures all related to XML validation, a few happening in the CSW module (which validates requests) and a couple in WMS, when sending over a SLD and asking it to be validated. All these code paths end up in the GeoTools Parser

Resolved issues with logging tests, abandoning the log4J upgrade in favour of writing a new test tool. Spring 5 required update to JUnit 4.12 which broke some tests, which I have fixed, although it's not pretty. Transitive Jackson dependency then caused integration test failures, which I fixed
