Hi Guys
We have noticed many 'common' queries to our WFS, including some very common
filter queries (As HTTP GET) to our WFS's when we run training sessions. Some
of these queries are costly (15seconds) and some are nightmare-ish-ly costly
(14 mins) for some of the more complex app schema
How the hell do I unsubscribe from this list?
It was interesting for a while, but is now getting overwhelming
with the number of emails received.
I have looked on
https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/geoserver-users
but this just says I am already subscribed when I enter my email
address.
Hi,
It is really on that page. See at the bottom

You can also edit your mailing list settings so that messages are not sent to
your mail box. You can read
Fill in your email on the bottom most input and click unsubscribe or edit

the trick.
Also, it might be interesting to just edit your account to receive a digest
instead of seperate mails. That way you will still receive the
Hi,
I was wondering if someone knows of a good generic image server for
non-georeferenced Images (dumb PNGs and JPEG2000).
Thanks,

Hi,
When it comes to JPEG2000 it is worth having a try with Kakadu demo
applications from
http://www.kakadusoftware.com/index.php?option=com_contenttask=viewid=26Itemid=22
Demos can only be used for non-commercial use without buying Kakadu license but
they are of so high quality that it is

Sorry,
I noticed too late that those BitTorrents are ECW files so they are not for
JPIP. I am prepering some new JPEG2000 mosaics but they are not ready yet.
Right now there is whole lot of JPEG2000 orthoimages with attribution-only
license downloadable through this link
Yup exactly like that Ian.
I read up about the documentation on geoserver.org about that and it seems like
Geoserver doesn't actually publish those images as true layers with that EPSG
code?
This was the ImageCollection Plugin I believe.
I can't seem to find the docs for that plugin
Sounds good Rahkonen,
Looks like there's enough support on the iPhone to render a JPIP stream as well.

I'll have to play around with this this weekend and see what I can scrap
together.
I imagine a JPIP stream to the iPhone will be
Hi,
Do not imagine anything about JPEG2000 without trying yourself. Theoretically
it is a wonderful image format but obviously so complicated that there are only
a handful of SDKs which are really good and fast. Even they may have
difficulties with JPEG2000 images which are not created with
Hi,
Is there a wiki to provide step wise installing process of Geoerver? I will

No Imran, I do not wish to add a PostGIS table. I am installing the
complete Geoserver Open Suite again but last time I installed Open GeoSuite
I had issues with the PostGres PostGIS extension. So i will now be
installing the complete Postgres with PostGIS using the following

Andrea,
Are there any alternatives you can recommend then?
One option is to use JPEG2000 and JPIP and perhaps:

Are there any other choices?
Thanks,

Not really, the only recommendation I have would be to work to move up
either the
image collection or the world image readers to a state that is usable for
you.
