You seem to be using a self-signed certificate, I've not tried this before, but at first glance you seem to have taken all the steps. Not sure I see the signing certificate being imported, not sure if you need to. SSL debugging is a pain in java, you can increase the Jvm logging using either

Hey guys, I have Geofence Embedded working in Geoserver-2.11.2 and when I install monitor-hibernate-plugin Geofence is broken and Geoserver doesn't start. I need the Monitoring plugin to work with External Postgis database as well as Geofence internal server? How can I make sure these two work
