We have recently migrated from Geoserver 2.20.2 to 2.23.0 GetCapabilities no
longer works with secured layer groups.
It only works with individual layers. We use Catalog Mode mixed.
http://localhost:8080/geoserver/ows?service=WMS&version=1.3.0&request=GetCapabilities
throws the exception:
