Re: [Geoserver-users] GEoServer sometimes gives exception: Unable to encode filter

2018-04-18 Thread Ronald Hoek - ComponentAgro B . V .
It looks like upgrading to 2.12.2 solved the problem!
I no longer see the exception in the logs.

Thanks Andrea

Hi,
by the trace it seems like you're hitting this issue, which has been fixed,
you'll need to upgrade GeoServer:

[Geoserver-users] GEoServer sometimes gives exception: Unable to encode filter

2018-04-10 Thread Ronald Hoek - ComponentAgro B . V .
Hello to everyone,

Background:

We've recently started to use/host our own GeoServer instance. It is used to
host some publicly available Geo-Data, which is only available as a shape file
download.
But since that's to much to have as a download for our endpoint users
application (400 - 800 MB) we were searching for a way to host it using a Geo
service.

Current system configuration:

  *   GeoServer 2.12.1
  * Installed as a Windows Service (Windows Server 2008 R2)
  * Stand Alone JRE 1.8.0_161 (i586) - pointed to during installation

The problem:

We've bee using/testing the server with our application for ome time now and
recently noticed some strange problems while requesting features using a BBOX
query:

2018-04-09 12:15:47,176 ERROR [geoserver.ows] -
java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to encode filter [ the_geom bbox POLYGON
((267522.77828 473671.81702, 267522.77828 474716.29011,
268170.30771 474716.29011, 268170.30771 473671.81702,
267522.77828 473671.81702)) ]

It's strange, because a few seconds later the BBOX request is made again and
does not give the exception...

Might this be a problem regarding the fact that this data is being requested
fort he first time?

Ronald Hoek
