Finally getting around to adding a dbcp dependency to out build (for
oracle-epsg) - and I found this great site:
You can look up stuff (like dbcp) and it will show you the published
versions - along with the XML you need to add it to your build.
GeoServer is listed (
I'll provide a quick response before everyone else wakes up... but you
might want to wait for a more authoritative answer (but this is useful
for me to check my understanding is correct :-) )

Sure
GeoTools strives to be an implementation of most things geospatial. We
tried for a bit to provide user interface widgets as well .. but did not
have enough volunteer time for that.
We are not really interested in defining interfaces ... so whenever a
GeoAPI interface is available we try

I'm wondering what the relationship is between GeoTools and the GeoAPI. I
know that GeoTools provides an implementation of at least portions of the
GeoAPI, but I was hoping to get some more of the details.
When may a GeoTools interface that corresponds to a GeoAPI interface contain

Two problems noted:
- you cannot create a ".geotools" directory using windows (you need to
break out a shell and use mkdir)
- examples in svn are saved with unix LF rather then windows, this is
fine except in so much as we link to them from our docs

The instructions for how to do OnlineTests are now ready; if you are a
module maintainer for something that talks to a server (database, WMS,
etc...) please have a look at this page here.
If you have any questions let's talk about them on emai
Well the problem is none of the online tests are using this approach, I
know Rob tried to get this to work but never could. This is one of those
things that each module maintainer has to do. Convert their tests cases
which uses fixtures to the approach discussed. When that will happen...

Currently they are marked as pending -

Justin is your build box happy with this approach?
Jody
PS. Currently GeoTools is taking 15 mins for me to build, without online
tests.

hey all,
two questions about connecting to databases:
1) Do all DBMS's have some default dB (aka Cluster/ Catalog) readable by
all users?
The uDig postgis connection system needs the name of a database to make
an initial connection from which it gets a list of databases to offer
the user. Hence,
We just got a comment on our home page from "http://www.friendlybiz.com";
... going to see what can be done about it.
They did go to the trouble of setting up a codehaus user:

For now I will turn commenting off on the home page ... and contact
irc.
Continuum hates us today - but the website is down. Any ideas?
