I was running into some issues calculating the distance between two points
using the GeodeticCalculator class. Basically at large (abs value)
longitudes I was being told there was no convergence.
I swapped to using GeographicLib (for the time being) and the issues went

The motivation to get into maven central probably isn't so much a "how does
this make geotools/geoserver we have right now immediately better" - I
agree, there are some awkward hoops to jump through.
