Hi all, I've just fixed a regression in the shapefile datastore module related to reading non ASCII chars. I already fixed this bug one year ago, and added unit tests for that. Unfortunately someone disabled the ShapefileDataStoreTest (that is, the most important test in the shapefile suite) and we had a regression.
Now, the comment in the pom said that it was disabled because of a build issue, so I'm warning you, if you experience build problems in that module let me know. Also, I would like to ask everybody to open a jira issue each time they disable a test, asking the maintainer to look into the test and fix it. Having the most important shapefile test class disabled for months is a serious issue imho, fixing bugs and building tests takes time, please pay attention when playing with tests and treat a temporary removal of a test in a supported module as a issue that needs to be dealt with (thus the jira).
