*SNR *Call for Books and Book Reviewers for

*Under Fire: Environmental Protection in a Turbulent World*

The Book Review Editors of *Society & Natural Resources *kindly request
proposed reviews (and reviewers) for books and other media that explore *how
societies achieve protection of the environment and natural resources in
hostile political environments*. Hostile political environments could mean
political parties actively working against environmental interests, and/or
competing concerns are vying for resources which could otherwise be used
for protecting the health of people and the environment. We hope to gain
insights from lessons at a variety of different spatial and cultural
contexts with an eye to those that are scalable and broadly applicable in
multiple locations around the world.

For consideration, please send a brief cover letter proposing a book/ media
title and how that work (or works, in the case of proposed review essays)
complements the theme of *Under Fire *to the following link:
https://osu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_emO1wxXxfwu7Nk1 by *April 2nd,
2017*. Prospective reviewers should be fully independent from the authors
of works proposed for review. To avoid potential conflicts of interest,
prospective reviewers should include a brief CV with their cover letter.
SNR seeks career scholars and practitioners for book/ media reviewers.
Doctoral students and recent postdoctoral fellows are also invited as long
as they include a midcareer or senior scholar as co-reviewer.

If proposal is accepted, SNR's Book Review Editors will reply with a formal
invitation to submit a review. Review proposals that don’t fit within the
theme of *Under Fire *are welcome also. For publisher’s guidelines on book
reviews, please visit: http://www.tandfonline.com/action/authorSubmission?
