The World Resources Institute (WRI) seeks a dynamic individual with 
expertise in renewable     nergy to lead WRI initiatives  to make renewable 
energy mainstream and thereby help address the  challenge of climate change.

Initiatives  include:Expanding WRI work in advancing renewable energy 
policies in the United States.Leveraging WRI Green Power  Market Development

Group to  build corporate markets for renewable energy.Expanding both WRI

1. Senior Associate, Green Power Market Development Group, Climate, Energy 
and Pollution         Program   Climate and  Energy Program World Resources 
Institute
Salary and benefits:$60,000 $73,000, commensurate with experience.
Position is full-time with  benefits. 

The Climate, Energy and Pollution (CEP) program at WRI is seeking an 
Associate to work on issues  related to China and  its role in global 
climate change. The successful candidate will have a  broad understanding of

the political dynamics  surrounding energy and the environment in China.  
Under the direction of the Objective Leader for International Climate  
Policy, the Associate will  help WRI develop internal capacity to expand on 
a major new clean energy effort there. He/She   will undertake research, 
policy analysis, project management and fundraising on Chinese energy  and 
environment issues. The Associate will work with a team of WRI staff 
dedicated to finding  ways to both mitigate climate change and  help the 
most vulnerable to adapt to it. 

2.Associate/Senior Associate - China Climate and Energy Program World 
Resources Institute

The World Resources Institute (WRI) is seeking an Associate to play a 
leading role in WRIs work  in the area of climate  change and finance. WRI 
is a leading non-profit institution providing  analysis, tools and climate 
change solutions  including research and analysis to the capital  markets 
environmental and financial performance. The  program seeks to  build 
capacity and tools within the industry to assess and integrate climate  risk

and opportunities into financial  valuation and investment strategy. Through

a major new  initiative, WRI now aims to grow its activities to advance 
capital formation around low-carbon  technologies. 

3.Associate, Capital Markets Research Climate and Energy Program World 
Resources Institute
Salary and benefits:Salary is negotiable depending upon experience and

EMBARQ, the World Resources Institute Center for Sustainable Transport is 
seeking a Deputy  Director whose principal  responsibilities would be to 
lead the development of new products and  projects that support EMBARQ 
strategic  objectives and strengthen its long term financial  
sustainability. This will serve as a senior management position within  
EMBARQ and the successful  candidate will thus have demonstrated leadership 
capacity in an international environment,  as  well as strong technical and 
managerial experience. 

4.Deputy Director, EMBARQ, The WRI Center for Sustainable Transport 
EMBARQ-The WRI Center for  Sustainable Transport  World Resources  Institute
Location:Washington, DC. Frequent overseas travel required.
Salary and benefits:Depending on qualifications and experience, plus full 
WRI benefits. 

EMBARQ is seeking an experienced director for its growing presence in Asia. 
The Asia program  includes India, Turkey,  Vietnam and China, however,  
India and Turkey will be the region primary  focus for the 2007 to 2011 time

frame. The  Asia programs director must have both the technical  skills 
identified below, as well the experience and access to develop  and   
sustain partnerships  with public and private sector leaders in the region 
who will be critical to the adoption of   sustainable urban transport 
strategies. 

5.Director Asia Region, EMBARQ, The WRI Center for Sustainable Transport 
EMBARQ-The WRI Center  for Sustainable  Transport.
Location:Home location either Washington, DC, with frequent travel to Asia 
or India (Mumbai or  Bangalore) with frequent  travel to other cities in 
Asia and to Washington, DC.
Salary and benefits:Competitive based on applicant experience. 

The World Resources Institute is seeking a Corporate Relations Manager  to 
expand the private  sector collaboration in  and financial support of WRI's 
mission and program objectives. The  manager will identify areas of mutual 
interest  between WRI and individual companies, solicit and  steward 
corporate donors, and develop creative ways to effectively  engage WRI's 
Corporate Council  members in our work on an ongoing basis. The manager will

also support the Vice  President for  Institutional Strategy & Development 
in her efforts to work with WRIs Chairman and President to  establish a 
number of key institutional strategic relationships with corporate partners.

The  manager will report to this Vice President  and work closely with 
program staff across the  institute. 

6.Corporate Relations Manager Development.
Location:Washington, DC

The People and Ecosystems program at WRI is seeking a Senior Associate to 
work on eutrophication  and water quality  trading programs in the 
Chesapeake Bay, as well as the development of broader  performance-based 
initiatives that improve environmental quality. Primarily, the Senior 
Associate  will lead an effort to convene Chesapeake Bay  stakeholders 
around water quality with the aim of  developing a process to harmonize 
trading programs in the  Chesapeake Bay. In addition, the  incumbent will 
develop new areas of work related to agriculture and ecosystem services  in 
the  U.S. and abroad. The successful candidate will have a broad 
understanding of environmental market-based approaches, water quality 
trading, and agriculture that allows them to contribute to  a team of WRI 
staff  dedicated to promoting performance-based initiatives to improve water

quality  and other ecosystem services.
