Dear colleagues, Since the deadline for abstract submissions is in two days, allow me a last reminder for our “Nature of Peace” conference:
The conference will take place in Lund on the 26th and 27th of April 2018 and will explore links between the natural environment and peace-building in post-conflict societies. It serves as a platform to engage with professionals working on this nexus topic from a variety of theoretical angles and empirical foci. We therefore invite both scholars and practitioners from different disciplinary backgrounds to participate or present their work under one of the following conference themes: (1) Natural resources exploitation, (2) Environmental legislation / nature governance, (3) Biodiversity conservation, (4) Monitoring environmental transformation (tools and mechanisms), (5) Nature, culture and rights, (6) Intersectionality, post-conflict and natural environment. Confirmed keynote speakers are: Päivi Lujala, Department of Geography, Norwegian University of Science and Technology; Carl Bruch, Environmental Law Institute, Washington DC (US); and Miguel Londoño, Global Green Growth Institute, Colombia. Conference organiser is the interdisciplinary research group ‘The Nature of Peace’ at the Pufendorf Institute for Advanced Studies at Lund University, Sweden. If you are interested in presenting a paper, please submit your proposal no later than 15 February to my colleagues Andrea Nardi (andrea.na...@keg.lu.se) or Lina Eklund (lina.ekl...@cme.lu.se). Submissions should include (1) an abstract of no more than 500 words; (2) a brief bio containing the author’s name, institutional affiliation and contact information; and (3) the title of the conference theme on which you like to present. If you like to participate without a paper, please send an e-mail to the same colleagues, preferably also by 15 February. All participants will be notified of the final selection by 28 February 2018. For further information on the conference, please see: https://natureofpeace.blogg.lu.se/invitation-to-conference-26-27-of-april-2018/ . Please note that we cannot reimburse for travel and accommodation. We look forward to your proposals.
