I've found that the --force command is good to add at the end of your
commands on the command line in any case. I do it as a standard practise.

Linux is easier to copy and paste than windows--I've found. Linux is
straight forward, whereas one needs to right click on the command line
and then choose paste in the terminal in windows. Once you've grasped
that, it's easy to substitute the parameter
Chris, what I did was to cut and paste the following
get_iplayer --prefs-add --rtmp-tv-opts=--swfVfy
http://www.bbc.co.uk/emp/releases/iplayer/revisions/617463_618125_4/617463_618125_4_emp.swf;
Make sure there is a space between swfVfy http when you do this.
Then do this:
1) You will open
1) Where does one find the perl script if one is using windows?
2) I take it I would change whatever value exists for this:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/emp/releases/iplayer/revisions/617463_618125_4/617463_618125_4_emp.swf

I figured out the windows solution as it won't let me update get_iplayer.pl
I used the terminal and added:
get_iplayer --prefs-add
--rtmp-tv-opts=--swfVfyhttp://www.bbc.co.uk/emp/releases/iplayer/revisions/617463_618125_4/617463_618125_4_emp.swf;
It works a charm now--thank you.

I have to concur that the best bet is to wait a while before panicking
about being able to download.
For some reason, the Beeb can take a while to get these programmes into
a form that they are downloadable.
