It gets sent out once a month and as far as I can tell has always included the password so not a new thing! As long as you are not using the password for anything else (and by default I think it is a randomly generated one by the system anyway) there really is little anyone can do with it.

This is how mailman has worked since, well, forever. And it's why you should always use a unique password on every site you go to. Or in the case of mailman, not set one and it sets a random one for you, which it helpfully mails you monthly should you require it.
