I'm committing the faux pax of answering your email to ghdl-discuss because it may be relevant to other ghdl followers. I'll Bcc you so your email address isn't uncovered and I don't have access to the mail subscriber lists to see if you're on it. If you're having trouble accessing free.fr, it only lasts for 24 hours and is a Denial of Service attack defense that excludes entire domains - you could be suffering from the someone else's activities in your same domain (not readily apparent from your email). I'd imagine say Google could regularly trip the DoS defense for instance. While I have (had) access to the download site, free.fr doesn't seem to allow binary images to be loaded to the site from outside the system. Tristan had to load the Mac OS X version for me. We've discussed moving the site, but our set of bias haven't matched and the urgency hasn't been there. I don't personally have anything to do with a Windows version I did the one for Mac OS X. As I recall Tristan addresses building in Windows environment, ghdl is a comand line interface only which means it could be done in cygwin etc. I don't have a Windows machine and haven't paid close attention to problems if they weren't evident in the OS X version. The ghdl download page is: http://ghdl.free.fr/site/pmwiki.php?n=Main.Download Older versions can be found at http://ghdl.free.fr/download.html and after Reading Brian Davis' message https://mail.gna.org/public/ghdl-discuss/2011-01/msg00007.html I'd recommend the 0.29.1 version http://ghdl.free.fr/ghdl-installer-0.29.1.exe It seems the http://ghdl.free.fr/site/uploads/Main/ghdl-win-installer-latest.exe points to ghdl-installer-0.29.exe by examining the binary. If ghdl-0.29.1 isn't suitable (has problems, Brian Davis has commented on a problem with XP I believe) Salvador E. Tropea's recent post has a pointer to a ghdl-0.25 for windows. See https://mail.gna.org/public/ghdl-discuss/2011-09/msg00001.html He includes gtkwave in his package. While I don't have a Windows build environment, something like Cygwin would do readily, it's only a command line interface. Tristan addresses building a Windows version in various descriptions found in the source tree which can be downloaded via the SVN repository. ( see https://gna.org/svn/?group=ghdl ) Somewhere I did a list of svn revision levels to ghdl release numbers, and would examine the Bugs and Open Items for advising which one to use for a Windows build. Building would require an Ada compiler. _______________________________________________ Ghdl-discuss mailing list Ghdl-discuss@gna.org https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/ghdl-discuss
