Not a new one though. This has been suggested before. There is just no
infrastructure for these kind of plug-ins/extensions. We plan to have
it at some point in time but so far no work is being done to make this
happen.

maybe i dont understand the suggestion, but the animated brushes i think
are capable of this:

 input, and it modifies the layer/drawable continuously. Calligraphic brushes, d
ifferent styles of gradient brushes, color replacement brushes, alpha brushes, e
rasers, etc. can be implemented via this technique.
