can someone suggest a way to make very near white colors pure white?. so far, I've been selecting by color while holding down the shift key, but it takes ages, and is a bit slow. what might work, is if you could select colors by selecting an area of a histogram. any ideas? -- This is a

I've wondered for years if there's any way to perfectly strip an image from a solid colored background while maintaining any alpha channel info. Take this image for instance. http://epierce.freeshell.org/temp/index.html The background is 100% white. But there's some definate blending going on
