Hi. Thanks for the info about GTK+. I did, in fact, find some GTK material
on my machine, so I cleaned it out.
A reinstall of GIMP failed, same as before.
I also found AbiWord, which I kind of like. I installed AbiWord without any
problems. So I'm guessing that my problem with GIMP is not
