It was a joke. I had hoped that in this unusual discussion about trying to change the name of the GIMP that some humour might be acceptable but I geuss not. Unfortunately some people (the kind who eat "Freedom Fries") have suggested giving it back the statue in all seriousness. I'll resist the temptation to tell another joke, but suffice to say the French do like most American people and it is generally American politics that they and other around the world dislike.
