[Gimp-user] Changing Text tool defaults

Friends, The current default values in the text tool for size of the type is 18.0 pixels. I use a different size (12.0 points) so much that I'd like to make this the default value, but I cannot find out where to do so. Is it possible? What do I change? How do I find it? ns

I took a look at inkscape and I did review the tutorial-shapes page, but not being familiar with the program, the learning curve is longer than the manual process I went through with GIMP. If there was a tutorial that walked me through step-by-step I could do that. What I did last night in

[Gimp-user] Stroke ignoring color selection?

I've been using Stroke Selection successfully for weeks now. However, this morning I can't get stroke to apply the colors I've chosen in the color picker. It just applies black. Any suggestions about what is happening? I've tried restarting the app, resetting the tool, etc. Nothing is working.
