The I have a USB HP OfficeJet 6110 that has a built in scanner. This scanner is found and recognised by version 1.2, but not by version 1.3 or Gimp 2. OK ! i have downloaded, compiled installed 0.94. It will run stand alone, but not as a plugin. xsane-gimp doesn't exist anymore, not even in /usr/local/bin the ? new? default dir. If you have xsane installed in /usr prefix you shoud have a /usr/bin/ xsane executable for it (which xsane will tell you where it is located). Go to your .gimp-2.0/plug-ins directory (in your home directory) and add a symlink to the xsane binary : cd .gnome(2.0/plug-ins ln s /usr/bin/xsane This will give the following symlink: xsane - /usr/bin/xsane For a general usage on your machine you can make the symlink in /usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins --- Regards - Jean-Luc You have to use the latest version of xsane. 0.94 is the latest one. -- - Jean-Luc Question: How do I get Gimp 2 to see it? A big thank you goes out to the DistroWatch guys, sizeable unsolicited donations are always great news, and bring a smile to people's faces :) Cheers, Dave. [Gimp-user] the gimp being used regularly
I think it's important for people to know about projects where the gimp is being used constantly for professional work. It might encourage more and more people to use the gimp and to see it's capabilities. Is there a list like this somewhere? If not, maybe some of you could point out where work done with the gimp is online. cheers. gaston. ___ Gimp-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.xcf.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user

[Gimp-user] Website maintainer proposal
Hello GIMP lists, This was my first attending at a GIMPCon meeting. First of all I would like to thank everyone that was able to come. I would also like to thank David Odin for a nice picture of me, I usually don't become good in photos but the one he took is really nice. So thanks. :) So on to the topic of this mail. At the first meeting we discussed the website and who to contact about things conserning the site, I said that I was willing to give it all a try and try to bring things up again. Because of this proposal it would be good to hear what everyone else that did not attend at the meeting thinks about this. If no onehas objections against this, then I will try my best to get things going with the website. Anyhow, I hope that all of you who attended at GUADEC-2004 had a lot of fun. Thank you once again for a great time. Regards, -- Niklas Mattisson scizzoNOSPAM-at-sector7-dot-nu ___ Gimp-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.xcf.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
