[Gimp-user] Import/Open 16-bit RAW images?

2004-10-28 Thread Yajie Sun

Hi,

Is there a way to
import/open a 16-bit RAW image in GIMP like ImageJ does?

Thank you very
much,

YS

You can load it in the Gimp (using rawphoto plugin) but it will be
converted to 8-bit image.
It is not possible to work with 16bit/channel images in the Gimp now.
But you can try Cinepaint which can edit up to 32 bit per channel. It
is derived from the Gimp but has a little old fashioned interface.

[Gimp-user] python-fu grid plugin

2004-10-28 Thread Fernando Sancho
Hi

I'm having problems with pdb.plug_in_grid. This function works ok if
applied on an indexed image, but fails (only draws vertical lines) if
applied on a RGB image.

What's wrong?

Regards.

 EEEK!! :-)

 Bug in the grid.c plug-in.
I will see if it is something I can fix - anyway, if you want, you
acan open a bugzilla bug for it already - bugzilla.gnome.org

I already could verify it is not python-fu related - it is a
 problem in the plug-in itself.

I managed to fix it.
I attached a patch to bug #156750 -
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156750

The plug-in was just ignoring the alpha parameter passed in the calls,
letting in grabage in it's place. So, sometimes the call would work,
sometimes don't.

[Gimp-user] Website updates for 2.2 release

2004-10-28 Thread Niklas Mattisson
Hello everyone,

So time has come to start thinking about the information provided on the
website before the 2.2 release is out. The first thing that is needed is
some information on how to update from 2.0 to 2.2 and how to have 2.0
and 2.2(-preX) installed side-by-side.

This is a great time for everyone that wants to help with the website to
come forward and help. If you are interested then join the gimp-web list
and help to start discussions and even help with the information on the
website.

As all may understand what the main reason is for the updates is to keep
up-to-date with the application itself and so we need to start thinking
about making 2.0 information into 2.2.

At the moment I do not have a list of TODOs but I am sure with this mail
that we all can start discussing the different places that needs
updating and what would be good to add to the site.

Right now we just need to start thinking about the information that
needs updating and not adding new sections etc. So please come with
ideas and help us to get a even better website then it was before.

Regards,

The fact that the script passes garbage is not exactly the fault of
the plug-in. Colors passed via the PDB do actually have an alpha
channel. But since this is a seldomly used feature and since the grid
API is documented to use the opacity values, your fix seems like the
right thing to do.

2004-10-28 Thread Richard
I was wondering, is there some more plug-ins or scripts,
for working with Black and White images?
if so, where can I download them?
Thanks -
