Hi,
Finally, i updated my Gimp to version 2.2.2 on my Linux box as well.
Previously, i had 2.06 installed with help files working perfectly. Now,
with version 2.2.2 installed my help files are not functioning any longer.
When i click the help menu i get the following error;

Hi,
One of the things I was talking about in my previous email will be clearer
if you look at this screenshot I made of Gimp.

Look at all the wasted space underneath the tool icons. That area offers
itself for all kinds of useful option

Now that Gimp 2.2 is out, we can start fantasizing about the changes we

These are my fantasies.
To begin with, I would do away with all transformation dialog boxes (scale,

Hi,
I tried to install the help package on my system and i got the following

Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gimp-2.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment
Hi,
I have an interesting problem.
I am running a dual boot system with Xp and Linux. I have a fat32 partition
where i save my files from both operating systems. I have two versions of
Gimp, one for each system. The windows version is 2.2pre2 and the Linux
version is 2.0.2. Often i start a
in the file when I open in
Linux. Could it be because the Linux version of Gimp is not the same as
Window's?

Maybe by accident I discovered a bug in Gimp 2.2.
This is what happened.
I created a new gradient. Then in the gradient editor I clicked on the edit
Left color. The color picker popped up. I chose the color I wanted but I
forgot to close it. Next, I clicked the Right color in the gradient
At which level would you like to integrate it - source tree, release
tarball or binary distribution?

This I cannot tell, but when I compiled Inkscape from source all the
tutorials were in the help file ready to use. They could solve the problem
somehow.

The GIMP
I also cannot understand the reason behind not integrating the help files
with Gimp.
jozsefmak
The best solution of course would be to have the help files integrated with
the Gimp package itself. That is the way most packages work. Failing that,
a
help tarball in parallel to the current stable
I like the idea.

Hi Sven,
Thanks for this advice. I was not aware of this option. The small theme fits
much better to my taste. But I still think that by fine-tuning the layout
the dialogue windows can be made more compact.
