Im using Windows XP Media Edition. By not working I mean it doesn't show up.
The one I was asking about I got to work someone from another Gimp mailing list
helped me. But thanks for trying.

I may or may not be able to help, but for starters we need a little
more
information to be able to diagnose the problem.

First of all, what operating system are you using?

Second, how do you define "not working?" Do you mean the font is not
available (doesn't appear in the menu), or do you get poor results when
you use it? And if it's the latter, please describe the results you
get.

Also, you said there are some other fonts that aren't working. Even if
you never use them, it might be helpful to ask what distinguishes all
the fonts that don't work from those that do. E.g., do they all come
from the same foundry? Are they all in the same directory? And so on ..

I am trying to run both versions of the Gimp in
Windows XP SP2. The 2.2 version runs with no
problems, but the the 2.3 version indicates upon
running that it is unable to locate libgimp-2.0-0.dll
or libgimpui-2.0-0.dll. I set in environment
variables that it was suppose to look in another
folder My Documents for the dll, but then when I do
that I get The Gimp has experienced an error and needs
to close. When I had version 2.3.6 I had no problem
running the two side by side however now with 2.3.12 I
cannot seem to accomplish the same thing. Has anyone
else using Windows XP been able to run the two side by
side and if so how?

I am new to this, so please bear with me.

I live in Brazil, and use Windows in Portuguese, but would prefer to
have the GIMP in English. Of course, during installation, it opted for
Portuguese since that is the language of my operating system. So, my
question is, how can I make it speak English to me?

Thanks,

Jim

You merely have to create an environment variable and set its value to
"en".

If you are using Windows:

set lang=en
c:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\bin\GIMP-2.2.exe

If you are using Linux, I will assume you know how to set an environment
variable for the terminal shell that you prefer. :)

I think you need to go:
https://lists.xcf.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user

Scroll down, click 'Unsubscribe or Edit Options', and then change to
digest mode.

Or, if you'd like I'll send you a gmail invite - it's pretty good with
lists, and you have almost 3 GB of space... (I don't work for google -
I just like gmail for lists)

The trouble with digest is that it doesn't let you thread email,
so it's hard to follow a conversation (at least, I find it hard).
You might find you get the best of both worlds by creating a filter for
gimp-user and redirecting all mail for this list to its own folder.
That way, your inbox remains uncluttered but conversations remain listed
in a logical order.

I filter on [To or CC = [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Regards,
David
