I need to extract the palettes from my images. With 1.0.4 release I used the
"Image/Save Palette" menu to perform this action.
But it seems to be no more available with Gimp 1.2.
Should be able to get a palette from an indexed image in the palette
editor

Thanks again for all the help, but the cleanest and easiest is to use
Gimp. I found an option under Filters -Render-Dynamic Test which
brings up a box where you can enter text or import a text file. It then
goes in on a transparent background. No mess, no fuss...

I am wanting to cut a large image into small pieces for the web. I
looked through the User's Manual and found that the View|Multiselect
Command would do what I wanted, but I could not find it in Gimp 1.2.
Where is this command or something that will have the same effect?

I use freebsd 4.2 as an operating system and I upgraded to gimp-1.2.1.
I have used filter-web-perlotine to slice up my images before. But looks
like perlotine is missing from Gimp1.2. Is this permanent?

You have to make sure that you have all the Perl/PDL stuff set up. I
don't believe it's default.

perlotine is one way to do it, if you want to do more of it yourself,
(which is likely) image-Image-Transforms-Guilotine, which just
cuts the image up. doesnt do the other stuff.
